“Serve All” Community | Montreal, Canada

Swami Vishnudevananda’s mission was to spread peace around the world. We strive to keep this mission alive year after year.  We are continuously supporting different organizations that work with children’s orphanages, asylums and schools (gurukulas). We have supported medical camps in rural areas in southern India and children’s hospitals in Africa. Slowly we were able to bring Yoga into many community centres in Montreal.

We believe that with the support from all of you, we will be able to not only continue with this mission but to expand even further. Being able to share our loving hearts and warm hands to help those who need.

We offer a free weekly yoga class at the Montreal LGBTQ Community Centre.

In addition, some local charities, representing a wide range of needs, which the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centre, Montreal has supported:

  • Sumedha—a self-development and personality development school program for children in Hyderabad, India
  • Aum Pranava Gurukula, India

The Aum Pranava Gurukula is an orphanage for abandoned children, elderly persons and cows. Registered as a charity, the Aum Pranava Ashram in nearby Tamil Nadu, has been accommodating a children’s home since 1996, an old age home since 2003 and now has a growing goshala of 60 cows. As well as long-term shelter, the charity provides nutritious food, medical care, a spiritual environment with daily satsang, and supports the educational needs of the children into adulthood.
