Meditation and Holistic Healing

Course Details:

Learn how the five "koshas" (levels of consciousness) can be used for healing on the physical, energy, mental, emotional and spiritual aspects of living. Understand the interaction of your genes with one another and the environment, and explore how conditions such as cancer, heart disease, asthma and arthritis can be prevented and healed. Explore practices to improve health habits and diet by using yoga postures, breathing exercises, and meditation techniques. We will also chant daily and learn how kirtan/yoga chanting can be used as a meditation and healing practice.

Daily Schedule

5:30am Wake Up

6-8am Silent meditation, chanting, lecture

8-10am Yoga Class

10am Brunch

10:45-11:45am Karma Yoga

12-2pm Meditation and Holistic Healing workshop with Dr. Dennis Chernin

4-6pm Yoga Class

6pm Dinner

8-10pm Silent Meditation, Chanting, lecture

10:30pm Lights Out

Cost

Tuition: $125 plus accommodation (see below)

Day rate: $25

Arrival and Departure

Please plan to arrive on Friday, September 10, 2010 before 8pm and depart on Sunday, September 12, 2010 after 1 pm. The course will begin on September 10th with the evening Satsang at 8pm.

Then you will need to pay a deposit for the first night's stay to complete the registration process.

When you receive confirmation of receipt of deposit, the registration is complete.

Dennis Chernin, M.D., M.P.H. has practiced and taught meditation for over thirty years. He practices holistic and family medicine in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He received his M.D. and M.P.H. from the University of Michigan and did residencies in psychiatry and preventive medicine. His publications include the books Health: A Holistic Approach, Homeopathic Remedies for Physicians and Laymen, The Complete Homeopathic Resource for Common Illnesses and How to Meditate Using Chakras, Mantras and Breath.
