Yoga and Positive Living

07/16/10 to 07/18/10

Taught by Swami Padmapadananda •

This is a Yoga Vacation program. Guests will follow the daily schedule of meditation, chanting, Asanas, pranayama and have the opportunity to join in the classes of the Positive Thinking Course, July 12-18, taught by Swami Padmapadananada.

\"Some want to get out of the city life of excitement for a while in order to enjoy the peace of nature. Others go to big resorts to find peace and happiness. But the very thing they search for - that is, peace and happiness - cannot be found in such resorts, because of the lack of self-control and self-discipline.

An ordinary person, whether a businessman, professional, house-wife, or even a millionaire with all the wealth inevitable millionaire\\\'s million problems, goes for a vacation to have rest and relaxation in an atmosphere where they can forget their routine life, filled with worries and anxieties. During the holidays, they try to drown their sorrows, worries, and problems with alcohol, music, dances and other excitements in the evening, and during the day they just lie on a sun-soaked beach, take leisurely walks or a swim in the warm, tropical waters of the ocean. Some may take to their favorite golf course and others will concentrate on a fishing rod. Some may sit around in fashionable restaurants with all kinds of foods and drinks, while their mouths puff out smoke like a chimney. At night, they attend cocktail parties and dancing may last until four a.m. They come to their rooms semi-conscious, sometimes unconscious.

Let us analyze a little. Did they really enjoy their holidays? Did they really get the peace and happiness for which they took their vacation?

The answer is no. They will come back from their vacation and would need a vacation from their vacation. Yoga vacation, on the contrary, is a discipline venture of the body-mind-spirit, and allows you to come back to your life challenges refreshed and recharged from deep within.\\\"- Swami Vishnu-devananda
