Course Details

This three-day vacation will help you explore voluntary simplicity as a means of living a more fulfilling and self-sufficient life. We will discuss the reasons people are not content with life in the fast lane and the rewards of voluntary simplicity. We will also look at the practical aspects of simple living: living within your means, growing more of your own food, using less energy and practices that can lead to a more sustainable and self-sufficient life style. The seminar will be held over the fourth of July weekend.

Over night accommodations are available. For local residents, a reduced day rate of 35 USD per day is available and participants can sign up for one, two or three days.

Additional instructors for this course will be:

Ken Henry. Ken is a certified Permaculture designer and currently works in the Reno area designing and implementing sustainable landscapes. He will focus on wise water use design.

Jen Henry. Jen is a certified Permaculture designer and herbalist. She specializes in creating landscapes that are edible, useful and attractive.

Betsy Lemons. Betsy is a certified Permaculture designer and master gardener. She operates her own landscaping and gardening business.

Please plan to arrive at the Yoga Farm at least one day before the start of the course and to leave at least one day after the course completion.

We recommend that you spend at least a few days at the Yoga Farm before the start of your course. This allows your body and mind to rest, re-energize and be nourished by the ashram environment. You can then bring your study feeling relaxed and refreshed. You may also wish to stay for some days after the end of the course to allow the learning from your study to integrate more fully into your consciousness within the supportive environment of the ashram. If you decide to arrive early and stay longer, please register for the Yoga Vacation Program for those additional days. Please see the calendar of events for guest programs on offer around the time of your visit.
