Weekend Details

"Prana is the Universal energy that is found in our body and mind. Prana is supplied by food, water, air, solar energy, etc. The supply of Prana is taken up by the nervous system and the prana is absorbed by breathing. The excess of Prana is stored in the brain and the nerve-centers. The yogi stores an abundance of Prana by regular practice of pranayama, just as the storage battery stores electricity. That yogi who has stored up a large supply of prana, radiates strength and vitality all around.

The yogi who becomes an expert in the knowledge of controlling the prana will have mastery over all manifestations of power in the universe, and will be a successful, influential and fascinating personality.

Pranayama excercises various internal organs in the whole body. Its regular practice removes all sorts of diseases, improves health, energizes digestion, innvigorates the nerves, removes passion, and awakens the kundalini shakti. The practitioner will have good appetite, cheerfulness, good strength, courage, enthusiasm, and a good concentration of mind."

- Swami Sivananda, Bliss Divine

You can then bring your study feeling relaxed and refreshed. You may also wish to stay for some days after the end of the course to allow the learning from your study to integrate more fully into your consciousness within the supportive environment of the ashram.
