This 7-day course, Yoga for a Change, will introduce you to the Vedantic methods of self-inquiry in daily life in order to help you to prioritize, make decisions, to discriminate between what is really important to you in your life and what is not. In this time of transition, this is a most helpful skill, which will bring peace of mind and eliminate worries and anxieties, helping to conserve time, energy and money.
Learn age-old wisdom from ancient cultures, which allows people to be happy in difficult material conditions. Yoga philosophy offers practical advice on how to solve your problems in every day life. By learning this philosophy we can better handle change, and be prepared to tackle our problems, with fresh new insight and a changed outlook on life.
The serene setting of the Yoga ashram in Grass Valley, California, nestled in the beautiful Sierra Nevada Foothills or Nothern California, provides the perfect environment for a yoga retreat.
Learn how to optimize your potential and boost your energy with healthy lifestyle and diet, eating 2 organic, vegetarian meals and doing Yoga classes and breathing exercises daily, in addition to the classes and lectures.
Taught by Swami Sitaramananda, an experienced Vedanta and meditation teacher, who has lived in both Eastern and Western cultures. She has been director of the Sivananda Ashram Yoga Farm in Grass Valley, CA for over 15 years, as well as the acharya or main teacher of the yoga centers in Northern California, as well as Los Angeles.

We recommend that you spend at least a few days at the Yoga Farm before the start of your course. This allows your body and mind to rest, re-energize and be nourished by the ashram environment. You can then bring your study feeling relaxed and refreshed. You may also wish to stay for some days after the end of the course to allow the learning from your study to integrate more fully into your consciousness within the supportive environment of the ashram. If you decide to arrive early and stay longer, please register for the Yoga Vacation Program for those additional days. Please see the calendar of events for guest programs on offer around the time of your visit.
