Yoga of Recovery Retreat

08/08/10 to 08/13/10

Presented by

This 5-day course is open to all - especially beneficial to those overcoming self-destructive/addictive tendencies/eating disorders and for people with family members with addiction or family history of addictions. Understand your underlying vulnerabilities and establish a strong foundation in health to face the challenges and stresses of your daily life without resorting/relapsing into old addictive behaviors. Combining yoga (physical practices, psychology and philosophy) with the practice and principles of the 12-Steps, alongside an Ayurvedic lifestyle offers us a sure path from self-destruction to Self-realization - one day at a time. We require our alcohol/chemically dependent guests to have at least three months of continuous sobriety.
Every age group and all addictive and self-destructive tendencies are addressed. Those with eating disorders and behavioral addictions (relationships, gambling, spending etc.) should have enough stability to embark on this work. You do not need to be a yoga practitioner to come on the retreat. Although the teaching makes reference to the 12 steps, Yoga of Recovery is an independent retreat for people in recovery, it is not affiliated with any 12 step program and it is not a requirement that guests are member of 12 step programs. Attendance at the open pan-fellowship 12 step meeting offered is optional.
