The ashram is the ideal place to come relax, rejuvenate and detoxify from your daily life.

This weekend provides an opportunity to receive guidance and nurturing from specialists trained in the ancient healing science of Ayurveda in the form of body treatments, consultations and daily workshops. Please call in advance to book your Ayurvedic body treatment and consultation as there are a limited number of appointments available.

Participants will practice Yoga asanas (postures), Pranayama (breathing) and meditation twice daily and attend daily workshops on Ayurveda and health.

Ayurvedic Consultation

Discover your own personal constitution and learn the basic tools to keep your body, mind and spirit in balance through diet, lifestyle and other tools for healthy living. We'll determine what kinds of activities and changes in your lifestyle can best help you restore balance. Includes detailed history intake, pulse and tongue analysis, diet and lifestyle evaluation. Please call to book your Ayurvedic consultation and complete your Intake Forms before your scheduled appointment time.

Ayurvedic Body Treatments

A beautifully relaxing and luxurious full body treatment. Includes Abhyanga, a herbal oil massage; followed by Shirodhara, a soothing, steady stream of herbal oil poured on to the forehead directly over the third eye, calming and purifying the mind. Last comes Swedhana, a full-body herbal steam treatment, which helps the oil and herbs penetrate the body, nourishing the skin and removing toxins. Please call in advance to book your Ayurvedic body treatment as there are a limited number of appointments available.

Our Ayurvedic therapists are graduates of the California College of Ayurveda.

Curriculum

Talks will be given on topics such as:

  • Ayurvedic constitution
  • Signs of imbalance and balancing therapies
  • Proper Digestion
  • Guidelines to healthy eating
  • Ayurvedic lifestyle, seasonal and daily routines

6-8am Satsang: Guided silent meditation practice, chanting and lecture

8-10am Yoga Class

10am Brunch

11am Karma Yoga

12-1pm Workshop on Ayurvedic Lifestyle & Routines

1-4pm Free Time and Nature walks

4-6pm Yoga Class

6pm Dinner

7-8pm Free Time

8-10pm Satsang: meditation, chanting and lecture

Arrival and Departure

The course will begin at 7pm on Friday, July 16th with orientation, and will end at 3pm on Sunday, July 18th.

To reserve a place for this course, please register online or email yogafarmregistration@sivananda.org. Then please call to give us your credit card deposit and confirm your reservation.

A deposit paying for your first night's stay is required for your reservation. Please note that in case of cancellation, no refund will be given. A credit note for other programs at the Yoga Farm (valid for one year) will be given.

About Durga Leela (Catherine O'Neill)
Catherine ONeill (Durga Leela) is the founder of Yoga of Recovery, a comprehensive program that integrates Ayurveda and Yoga with recovery tools for a holistic mind, body and spirit approach for all those affected by addiction and self-destructive behaviors. Yoga of Recovery is currently offered as workshops, retreats and certificate courses. Durga holds the RYT-500 qualification, having completed both the Sivananda Yoga teachers Training Course and an Advanced Yoga Training. She is also extensively trained in Meditation and Vedanta. She is a Clinical Ayurvedic and Pancha Karma Specialist, trained at the California College of Ayurveda and also in Kerala, India. She is the Director of the Ayurveda Programs at the Yoga Farm in California and a professional member of the National Ayurvedic Medical Association (NAMA). She is also a member of Yoga Alliance and International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT).
